Former Reform UK MP Rupert Lowe has launched a new local political party called Great Yarmouth First, saying it will focus solely on the town's interests.
Lowe, now sitting as an independent, claims 500 residents have already joined and plans to fill candidates in next May's local elections.
He argues national and local governments have let people down, but council leaders reject that, pointing to £300 million of investment in the area since 2019.
