We’re Moving To DAB+ From July 1st 2026

From July 1st 2026, we’re making an exciting change to the way you listen to us on digital radio, as we move over to DAB+.

That means everything you already love about the station will still be right here. The same presenters, the same local updates, the same friendly voices, and of course, all your favourite music. The difference is that from July 1st, you’ll be able to hear it in crystal clear stereo, giving the songs you know and love an even better sound.

DAB+ is the newer version of digital radio, offering improved audio quality and a more modern listening experience. For many listeners, the change will be simple. Lots of newer DAB radios already support DAB+, so you may not need to do anything other than retune your radio on or after July 1st.

"HOW DO I CHECK MY DAB RADIO?"

However, some older DAB radios may not be able to receive DAB+ stations. That’s why we’re asking all listeners to check their radio ahead of the change. Look for the Digital Radio Tick Mark or a DAB+ symbol on your radio, in the manual, or in the settings menu. As a simple check, if you can receive Classic FM on your DAB radio, then you have a DAB+ set and you’re ready for the switch.

If your radio is DAB+ compatible, you’re all set to keep listening from July 1st. If it is not, you may need to listen another way or consider upgrading to a DAB+ compatible radio so you can continue enjoying us on digital radio.

We’ll still be bringing you all the music, local news, travel, weather, conversation and company you love every day. From July 1st 2026, it will simply sound even better.

Please check your DAB radio now and make sure it is ready for DAB+.
