Match Report | Norwich City 3-1 QPR

Norwich City returned to winning ways at home, claiming a 3-1 victory at home to Queens Park Rangers in the Sky Bet Championship.

There were two changes to the side that drew with Oxford United on Tuesday night, with Pelle Mattsson and Amankwah Forson both making starts.

And it was Forson who was behind Norwich's first opportunity, but the Ghanaian fired over the crossbar with his effort.

Nine minutes into the game, the Canaries were ahead. Emiliano Marcondes fired in after Ruairi McConville headed into his path.

Only two minutes later, QPR were level as Rumarn Burrell finished from close range from Sam Field's pass across goal.

Kenny McLean came close to restoring the lead, but the Scotsman's deflected effort was parried away by Paul Nardi in the QPR goal.

Just after the half-hour mark, Norwich would go back in front as Amadou Mbengue deflected McLean's corner into his own goal.

And just two minutes after the second goal, there would be a Norwich third. Forson was picked out by Josh Sargent and he found the far corner in brilliant fashion.

Sargent thought he had added Norwich's fourth, tapping in from Oscar Schwartau's ball across goal, but the assistant referee had his flag raised.

Substitute Errol Mundle-Smith nearly made it four, latching onto Shane Duffy's ball forward but his effort was deflected wide. Moments later, Jacob Wright's header was parried by Nardi.

Ilias Chair could've reduced QPR's deficit but his curled effort sailed wide of the Norwich goal.

Norwich would see the game out as 3-1 victors, claiming their first three points since the win away to Blackburn Rovers in August.

The Canaries travel to Vicarage Road next weekend, taking on Watford in the Sky Bet Championship.
