Hemsby lifeboat to relocate after coastal erosion

Hemsby Lifeboats has bought a former cafe so it can relocate its base further inland due to severe coastal erosion.

The independent service says storms have repeatedly washed away beach access, leaving the current station just 20 metres from the edge.

The charity has purchased the empty Hollywood Diner on Beach Road and hopes to convert it into a new lifeboat station by next summer.

The project could cost around half a million pounds.
