Haven Bridge in Great Yarmouth will be closed to all vehicles from December 1st until the 12th for major repairs.
Norfolk County Council says new barriers, handrails and walkways will be installed and thousands of timber blocks in the road surface replaced.
Footpaths will also close on the 10th and 11th of December for test lifts with a free shuttle bus provided.
The council says the £118,000 works are essential to keep the 1930 bridge safe.
