Two new special schools for Norfolk press ahead

Norfolk County Council says it will press ahead with plans to build two new special schools.

The schools in Downham Market and Great Yarmouth will provide specialist places for children with additional needs.

Ministers had offered funding to expand existing schools instead, but the council sought confirmation it would receive full backing for the new builds.

Councillors say the move will allow more children to learn closer to home.
